Gunsynd Solar PV & Battery Storage

Located in South West Queensland near the township of Goondiwindi, Gunsynd Solar Farm will generate up to 94MW of electricity and 20MW of battery storage that will supply the full township of Goondiwindi and inject into the QLD/NSW electricity grid via the Powerlink Bulli Creek 330/132kV Substation.

The site received Development Approval in early 2019 after a very co-ordinated and well thought out process with the landowner and local councils.

In November 2022, the project received approval from AEMO and Ergon Energy to connect to the Bulli Creek to Waggamba 132kV transmission line and the connection agreement was executed in December 2022.

With the completion of the development approval, PPA, and connection agreement, Skylab satisfied its obligations under a sale agreement to Metis Energy and ownership transferred.

The project has commenced construction and is expected to be completed in Q2 2025, and will involve the local community extensively by providing jobs, local business opportunities and support.

This is an extremely exciting project that is now moving very quickly to have full generation in 2025!

The Gunsynd Project is a credit to the Skylab team that has demonstrated that local industry knowledge with key professionals ensures a great outcome for landowners, community, stakeholders and investors.
